About Us:

Anita is from a proud Jacksonville pioneering family. She started sewing in the 1950’s at Medford High School taking classes such as sewing and tailoring.

After high school Anita did some work for the Oregon Shakespeare Society before opening her own shop in Jacksonville in 1989. The 5th Street address has proven to be a great location for the last 6 years. There is great parking and the convenience of being close to the restaurants and shops of Jacksonville.

Anita has mastered all forms of alterations skills. This is an old world craft that although in great demand is hard to find. Few have the experience to modify both ready-to-wear and custom made clothing. Clothing for the harder to fit figure can be daunting to find, but Anita’s experience overcomes this. Experience over the years has grown from alterations to sophisticated sewing skills enough to design gowns for wedding and all manner of special occasions. Each season Anita's typically prepares 30 – 40 wedding dresses in addition to the bridesmaids gowns. The shop has machines able to handle all kinds of garments, so whether it’s bridal, prom or a special gala gown, your chosen fabric will be treated carefully and professionally to retain its inherent beauty. Anita and her skilled staff take pride in meeting your needs.

Whether it’s a simple hem, pressing, repair or the design of a complete garment, you will find Anita’s ready to meet the challenge and treat each and every client with the care and individual attention they deserve.
